This elegant women’s pullover features a dramatic lace collar, matched with tapered lace inserts on the sleeves and body. A picot hemline adds a sweet and feminine edging. Knit in the round from the bottom up, this sweater requires minimal seaming and works up quickly. Skills required beyond knit and purl include: increasing (both yarn overs and m1) and decreasing, three needle bind off, and ability to read charted instructions.

A note about the pattern files
This pattern comes in two different formats, “tabular” and “traditional”:
The “tabular” format (samantha_sweater_tables.pdf) is provided as an alternative to the traditional small (large, larger) format of writing instructions for different sizes. In this file, a point with different numbers for each size is written as a blank followed by a letter, such as _____(A). Tables are provided at the end of the pattern with numbers for each size/letter combination. Find your size at the top of the table, go down the column until you get to the row with the required number, and fill this value into the blank. This version of the pattern is 6 pages in length.

The “traditional” format (samantha_sweater_trad.pdf) follows more conventional formatting of writing instructions, numbers for all sizes are contained within the pattern text as: 28 (30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56). This version of the pattern is 4 pages in length.

Each PDF contains all the charts and directions needed and is a self-contained unit. Simply pick the format that is most appealing to you.

I completed your test knit of the Samantha way back when and on time. I’ve only just posted photos I took, way back then, in my projects. Though I made a larger (if not the largest) size, there wasn’t much if any ease for my beer belly (laugh). But it’s a beautiful sweater. I made it in Eco + for test knit purposes only. To do another one I’d do it in a nicer yarn. Thanks, after all this time for the opportunity to push myself and use techniques I’d never used before. Susan (aka Droppedstitch2 on Rav.)

I bought the pattern about 4 years ago when the download was $6. How do I know if I should buy the new pattern? If I fit in the bust sizes you had before, has anything else changed?
