weedy wednesday: uses for scrap yarn

I’m sure I’m not the only knitter who winds up with small pieces of yarn hoarded up out of some primal aversion to waste. But what to DO with them? My latest solution is adding some color to my garden by tying up plants with scraps that are too short to use in an actual knitting project:
